Magic Method
Hello, my name is Chetna. Today, after reading this story, your life will change if you implement my magic method in your life. In 2020, I discovered this method, and my life was never the same. Since then, achieving anything has become a matter of intention and action.
If you want to achieve anything in your life, you need two things: intention and action. Most people fail because they don’t have goals; they have desires. The funny thing about desire is that it lacks responsibility. When our desires do not come true, we often blame others, situations, or a lack of resources. With goals, however, you find your way and never blame anything.
I failed to get the IELTS score of 8777 for my PR seven times. I was fed up. I wanted Canada PR to start a new life in the West, but I had one big obstacle: I didn’t have the score I needed. Every year prior to 2020, I had different things I wanted to accomplish, but I never reached my goals. What changed in 2019? I traveled to four countries, meditated for hours in various natural places, and gained a better understanding and clarity of my inner world.
On January 1, 2020, I took a pen and paper and drew myself carrying the weight of my goals. I gave a name to each bag, as you can see in the picture. One bag was labeled IELTS, another was weight loss, one more was making money, and so on. I remember having five main big goals.I stared at this picture for a long time. I looked at it and imagined actually carrying the weight. I felt the weight on my shoulders. Then, I asked myself which weight I needed to reduce first. If you have many goals, always finish one goal and then move on to the next one. One goal at a time.I decided to focus on IELTS only. I told myself I needed to get the IELTS score for PR first; only then could I think about other goals.
ONE GOAL AT A TIME
From January 2020 to March 2020, I focused only on IELTS. I used to set a timer for 40 minutes and write my essays. I was getting 8 bands in listening, reading, and speaking in my previous tests. My only problem was writing.I came up with a plan. I decided to write 100 essays and letters to perfect my skills. I read 9-band essays for reference. I gave my IELTS test on March 3, and I could not believe my eyes—I got my desired score. I redrew the picture with one bag less, and I was very happy because I truly felt like one bag had been lifted off me. It felt as though 10 kg of weight had been removed from my body. My second goal was to make money. Unfortunately, the COVID lockdown happened, and my language institute was shut down. From March 10 to April 30, I waited for the lockdown to be over, but it kept getting extended. To pass the time, I started learning about coding and E-commerce. However, in May, I realized I had wasted two months. I decided to make money despite the restrictions.
I went to my LinkedIn and posted that I was open to projects. Within two days, someone named Jonathan approached me and asked me to gather funds for his movie, Nemesis. I started working on it and began manifesting an investor. It took me three months to achieve this goal, but I eventually secured an investor who provided £10,000 for the movie. I felt so relieved.
By September, I chose my third goal: weight loss. I started eating one meal a day and exercising for 90 minutes daily. Within 40 days, I lost 8 kilos and kept it off for a long time. Goals 1, 2, and 3 were done!
Because I had already succeeded in three big goals, the remaining two were much easier. I cleared my German exam with 80 marks in just one month. I dedicated as much as six hours a day to studying German, and now I can speak the language. It was a one-time investment with a lifetime reward. My last goal was driving. It took a few days, but I successfully drove from Kapurthala to Jalandhar. See, when you succeed 2–3 times, success becomes a habit.
To motivate myself, I had an image of stairs as my mobile wallpaper. Every time I opened my phone, this image reminded me that I had to reach one goal to climb one step—otherwise, I would remain stuck. It doesn’t matter which pictures or methods you choose, but having visual images of your goals ingrained in your mind will surely help. It’s truly magical.
1. Make picture of yourself carrying the weight of the goals.
2. Focus on one goal at a time and do everything it takes to achieve it.
